18-Bit-Delta-Sigma-A/D-Wandler im SOT-23 17-01-07

18-bit Delta-Sigma Analogue-to-Digital Converter in SOT-23 Package Microchip announces a analogue-to-digital converter available in a 6-pin SOT-23 package. The 18-bit, Delta-Sigma MCP3421 ADC features an integrated voltage reference, oscillator and Programmable Gain Amplifier (PGA). The ADC uses an I2C compatible serial interface, operates from a single power supply (2.7V to 5.5V), and consumes 155μA during continuous conversion at 5V. In addition, the device’s onboard PGA allows users to select gains of x1, x2, x4 or x8 before the A-to-D conversion takes place. Example applications include industrial products such as portable instrumentation, pressure sensors, weigh scales, handheld meters and multimeters; medical applications such as heart rate monitors and blood glucose meters; consumer applications such as weigh scales and handheld meters, and automotive sensor interfaces and fuel gauges. For designers wanting to evaluate the MCP3421, Microchip offers the MCP3421 Evaluation Board.
