Austriamicrosystems has launched the AS1320, a step-up DC-DC converter with fully integrated synchronous rectifier. With a supply voltage of 1.5 to 3.5V the AS1320 is capable of delivering a 200mA output current at a 3.3V fixed output voltage.

The AS1320 features a shutdown mode where it draws less than 1uA. In shutdown mode the battery is connected directly to the output to enable direct battery feed through. This enables the input battery to be used as backup or as a real-time clock supply when the converter is off and eliminates the need for an back-up battery. To ensure stable operation the integrated power on reset circuitry enables the AS1320 to reset any type of microprocessor after power up.

The AS1320 is available in a SOT23-6pin package without the need for external components and is pin compatible to Maxim MAX1833 and the MAX8569B.
