Murata Power Solutions announced the MEE3 series of single output 3 Watt DC/DC converters in single-in-line 4 pin packages (SIP4). The series has a power density of 2.68 Watts per cubic cm. Within the series two modules are available offering either 5 VDC or 12 VDC inputs. The popular nominal outputs of 5, 9, 12 or 15 VDC are available across the full MEE3 range.

Typical converter efficiency is from 83% to 89% and is model dependent. No additional forced air cooling or heatsinks are required. These fully encapsulated units offer 1,000 V input to output isolation and can deliver full power across the industrial operating temperature range of - 40 to + 85 degrees C.

The series comply with the internationally recognized UL/EN 60950 safety standard for IT equipment. The converters provide a pin compatible power upgrade path from Murata Power Solutions' 1 W NKE/NME and 2 W NML series.
