Texas Instruments announced a 4-20mA transmitter in a MSOP-8 package. Featuring low offset and span errors, the XTR117 offers a power consumption of 250µA max and a operating voltage range of 7.5V to 40V. The device operates over the extended industrial temperature range of -40C to 125C. The XTR117 is available now in a MSOP-8 micro-package from TI and its authorized distributors. The device is priced at $0.90 in 1,000 piece quantities (suggested resale pricing). A 3mm x 3mm DFN-8 package option will be available in 1Q 2006.
