Rohm Semiconductor introduces the ML610Q400 series, CMOS 8 bit microcontrollers developed by OKI Semiconductor. Embedded flash memory operating with 1.1V voltage, a low power technology, a fine-tuned power management, and the RISC type 8 bit CPU nX-U8/100 as their core make them a efficient tool for portable applications. As for the RISC CPU core, an efficient instruction execution of one instruction per one clock is enabled by a 3-stage pipeline architecture.
Because the ML610Q400 ICs are equipped with a LCD driver and two kinds of A/D converter, they are ideal for sensor based applications with LCD display such as wristwatches, pedometers, heart rate monitors, and thermostats. Available for operation in extended temperature range (-40°C up to 85°C) they also fit for industrial devices such as data loggers used for the temperature management for food, etc. Furthermore Rohm Semiconductor also introduces OKI Semiconductor's Low Power MCU's ML610Q340 series, a family of derivates optimized for high quality Audio Playback function by adding synthesizer, filter functions, 16bit-DAC and 1W speaker amplifier.
