Access to CAN with LUA 19-10-10

CAN-Ethernet-Gateways with fast scripting interface LUA are available from Analytica. The company manufactures CAN-Ethernet-Gateways which feature individual access to CAN field bus by the standard network interface of a personal computer. Access to the CAN bus is usually done by an existing programming interface (API) which can be used in self-created application programs.

In addition to this traditional programming method, users of the AnaGate products can now quickly create program batch files in LUA scripting language to send or receive CAN telegrams. These script files are created and edited by a standard text editor (like notepad on windows systems). Then, the scripts are easily executed with a free LUA interpreter in the command shell of the pc.

LUA is quick, reliable and most importantly a compact programming language, which is especially suitable for use on embedded systems. The individual models AnaGate CAN uno, AnaGate CAN duo, AnaGate CAN quattro and of course the new AnaGate CAN USB take advantage of this particularly interesting LUA feature: via the browser interface of the gateway hardware script files can be uploaded and locally executed on the device itself.
