Altera and Zilog settle patent infringement suit 15-04-09

Altera announced settlement of its patent litigation with Zilog. As part of this agreement, Zilog made a one-time payment of an undisclosed amount to Altera and both parties agreed to dismiss their pending patent infringement lawsuits. All other terms of the agreement are confidential.

In may 2008 Altera has filed suit in the Federal District Court for the Eastern District of Texas against Zilog for patent infringement. The lawsuit alleged that some of Zilog’s newest products, including the Zilog eZ80F91 MCU series and ZNEO CPU Z16F series, infringe various Altera patents.
