Altera announced 2008 sales of $1.37 billion, up 8 percent compared with $1.26 billion in 2007. Net income rose 24 percent to $359.7 million, versus net income of $290.0 million, in 2007. Fourth quarter sales were $314.5 million, down 3 percent from the fourth quarter of 2007 and down 12 percent from the third quarter of 2008. Fourth quarter net income was $83.0 million, up from net income of $65.5 million.
