Altera announced first quarter sales of $264.6 million, down 16 percent from the fourth quarter of 2008 and down 21 percent from the first quarter of 2008. First quarter net income was $44.0 million, down from net income of $83.0 million in the fourth quarter of 2008 and $83.9 million in the first quarter of 2008.
