AMD announced the appointment of Emilio Ghilardi as senior vice president and general manager of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). He will report to Gustavo Arenas, AMD chief sales officer and will start in his new role in mid-August, 2008. Ghilardi joins AMD from HP, where he most recently served as the vice president and general manager of HP’s EMEA Consumer Business Unit. Previously, he was the EMEA vice president and general manager of Commercial Hardware within the Imaging and Printing Group. He also served as the vice president of Consumer PC Clients in EMEA. The company also announced that Alberto Macchi, corporate vice president of Sales and Marketing for EMEA, is leaving the company to pursue new opportunities.
