AMD announced Ronaldo Miranda, 50, will join the company effective April 4 as vice president and general manager for AMD's Latin America region. In this role, he is responsible for all of AMD's business and operations in Brazil, Mexico, South and Central America and the Caribbean.
Most recently, Miranda was vice president for Samsung's IT product division in Brazil where he was responsible for product definition and planning, marketing, sales and brand positioning. Miranda also spent 10 years with Intel and established its channel organization in Brazil. In addition, he has worked for Texas Instruments and Itautec.
Miranda replaces Hans Erickson who has been named AMD's vice president, Worldwide Business Management (WBM), based in Austin, Texas.
