The RoboCup German Open 2008 takes place from the 21st to the 25th of April 2008 at the Hanover Fair. For the first time the Robocup competition and accompanying events will take place under one roof together with the new special exhibition area “Mobile robots and autonomous systems”. Robocup Senior Teams can apply up to the 8th January 2008 for Hanover. German Robocup Junior Teams can apply up to the same date for one of the three RoboCup Junior Qualification exercises. The teams for the Robocup Senior Leagues are usually made up of members from institutes of higher learning from Germany and foreign countries. They make use of Robocup for researching new methods and procedures for future robot applications. Robocup Junior is the follow-up competition of the International Robocup.
