Atmel and TazTag collaborate 23-02-09

Atmel and TazTag are collaborating to bring to market all-in-one contactless solutions to store and protect personal data. As a first step in their collaboration, TazTag is using the Atmel AT98SC016CU turnkey security module in TazCard, the first NFC electronic wallet. The TazCard is a multi-purpose secured NFC device in a slim credit card format (6 mm in thickness).

This personal safe with a large touch screen, a fingerprint sensor and various communication interfaces (NFC, USB, ZigBee) allows a range of security applications such as access control, ticketing, couponing and payment. If required, a complete Java Software Development Kit makes possible the addition of further customized applications. Atmel is a provider of secure microcontrollers for smart card applications for telecoms, banking and government markets.
