Atmel appointed Christian Fleutelot as the new Head and Managing Director of Secure Microcontroller Solutions (SMS) Product Line. Atmel's SMS Product Line includes secure microcontrollers for smart cards and embedded security systems. Fleutelot held several functions in sales and marketing for European Silicon Structure (ES2), which was acquired by Atmel in 1995. It was during this time that he became head of the smart card ICs and ARM-based microcontrollers.
