AVX will acquire American Technical Ceramics for approximately $231 million. AVX is a manufacturer of passive electronic components and interconnect products. The AVX net sales was $1.5 billion for the fiscal year 2007. The net income was $153,9 million. American Technical Ceramics develops electronic components, including ceramic multilayer capacitors and custom thin film circuits. The companies net sales for the fiscal year 2006 was $84.1 million, net income amounted to $5.9 million.
