The key mechanical requirements on mobile battery-operated devices and systems include their compact design as well as stable operation also when subjected to impact and vibration loads. Suyin has adapted its surface-mountable 3- and 4-pin spring-contact battery connector series 060062MB specifically for such applications in order to cater precisely to these requirements. Secure contacting also under vibration loads is ensured by the special design of the 2.75mm pitch contact springs.

Their design features two split poles, meaning that they provide a total of five contact points for three poles and six contact points for four poles. The spring excursion is specified with 1.15mm (nom.), the contact force with greater or equal 150g/contact and the electrical loadability with 12 V/2 A per contact. Two soldering latches attached to the side also feature a special design.

Each latch is prepared for surface mounting and additionally through h ole mounting, thus providing the battery connector with a highly stable form of fastening also when dealing with extremely high pull-off forces. With compact dimensions of the 3-pole version of just 9.9 mm (L) x 4.6 mm (W) x 2.8 mm (H), the battery connector series is among the smallest in its class. On account of an additional application-specific design feature and due to the ability to install the PCB offset, it is possible, however, to save a further 0.8 mm in overall height.
