Bourns acquires assets from Corning Cable Systems 22-06-09

Bourns has purchased all of the assets of the central office surge protection products business from Corning Cable Systems, part of Corning Incorporated's Telecommunications segment. Bourns will consolidate the operation within its existing design and marketing operation in Riverside, California and manufacturing facilities in Costa Rica and Tijuana, Mexico. The assets purchased by Bourns do not include any of Corning Cable Systems' other copper product solutions or European surge protection solutions.

Bourns has previously acquired the communication protection products businesses of Joslyn Electronics and Emerson Network Power as well as Texas Instruments' solid state primary protection business and the innovative Transient Blocking Unit business of Fultec Semiconductor.
