CCD models supporting 1/4" and 1/3" optical systems
08-08-06
With its six newly developed CCD models RJ24xxx and RJ23xx respectively, Sharp is launching a line-up of high-sensitivity charge-coupled devices (CCD) supporting 1/4-inch and 1/3-inch optical systems. The models feature a total pixel count of 470k, 410k, 320k and 270k for the 1/4-type and 470k and 410k for the 1/3-type CCD. Divided into 1/4-inch and 1/3-inch optical systems these modules meet the demands of mainstream high-resolution miniature CCD products such as surveillance cameras.
The upcoming CCDs provide a sensitivity of 600mV, 1100mV and 1200mV respectively which is significantly higher as existing models and make shootings of perfect clarity possible. Additionally, the imaging quality has been significantly improved with 15dB less smear than at present to a ratio of -114dB and -120dB. The line-up provides pin compatibility with existing models which allows an easy upgrade to high-resolution cameras simply by exchanging the CCDs. Sharp offers the CCD modules as complete system solution with CCD, peripheral IC and signal processing LSI.
