In comparison to the previous year, the German circuit board manufacturers booked an increase of 3% in the 1st quarter of 2008. This was reported by the german Association of the Circuit Board Industry [Verband der Leiterplattenindustrie] in the ZVEI- Zentralverband Elektrotechnik- und Elektronikindustrie [Central Association of the electro-Technology and Electronic Industry]. March 2008 only had 19 working days available and therefore compared to March 2007 and February 2008 production was approximately 10% less. However, taken per working day, the turnover in March was approximately 6.4% above that of the previous year and for the 1st quarter of 2008 the increase was 4.2%. The segments of industrial and vehicle electronics contributed especially to the good figures. The Book-to-Bill ratio reached 1.13, a value that had not been reached for a month of March in the last 8 years.
