The FBDi e.V. reports that the German components distributors have kept their turnover in the 3rd quarter of 2007 stable in comparison with the same period of the previous year. The member companies reported 639 m Euro of cumulated turnover for the quarter (640 in 3Q 2006). The orders received improved slightly in Q3 with a Book-to-Bill ratio of 1.02. The first 9 months closed with a turnover plus of 3.6% to 1.90 bn Euro. In this, according to FBDi, the German distribution market is moving against the European trend. The other large European markets of UK, France and Italy were forced to report a decrease for the second time running. Thus the UK reported a 6.5% weaker 3Q than 2006, France with 7.6% and Italy with 3%.
Turnover by segments
The strongest product group by turnover, the semiconductor components, decreased by 0.2% to 446 m Euro. The proportion of semiconductors of the overall turnover remained stable at 70%. Happier, however, was the development of passive and electro-mechanical modules. Passive components grew by 3.7% to 102 m Euro and the electro-mechanical by 3.3% to 73 m Euro. Power supplies remained at the same turnover levels as for 2006 whereas the turnover of the FBDi members with Displays decreased further.
