Lauterbach, manufacturer of microprocessor development tools, presents its T32Start, which gives practical assistance in the configuration of its debuggers for multicore applications. The configuration tool makes graphical mapping of even the most complex debug systems easy. This makes configuration tasks less complicated for users, and even those new to the tool will be able to successfully implement individually arranged TRACE32 debuggers in just a short time. Whether multiprocessor systems with single JTAG ports or multicore systems (AISC and SoC) with a common JTAG interface – in future, extensive knowledge of the finer details of a multicore system or of the modular and, therefore, more flexible structure of a debugger, will no longer be necessary.
T32Start graphically shows how the debugger modules are concatenated with the corresponding cores in a tree structure. In this context, the interfaces to the computer used in each case can also be selected, that is, USB and Ethernet, or even old interfaces, such as parallel port and ISA card. In addition, the conventional settings required for start/stop synchronization are automatically available if necessary. And even the Trace32-PowerProbe or Trace32-PowerIntergrator logical analyzers can be directly integrated. Finally, the different configuration designs can be saved in containers on a common T32Start interface. All it takes to start the different debuggers in the required order is a click of the Start button.
T32Start, the TRACE32 extension, can be easily downloaded free of charge (see Infobox below).
