Emcore, a provider of compound semiconductor-based components and subsystems for the broadband, fiber optic, satellite, solar power and wireless communications markets, has signed a contract with Sandia National Laboratories. Sandia will provide technical support for Emcore's terrestrial solar systems products. Sandia has worked for over 25 years in the development of photovoltaics for grid-tied, utility scale power generation.
