Court decision: Fairchild versus Power Integration 12-10-06

A first decision has been handed down in the patent dispute that has been pending since October 2004 between Fairchild and Power Integration. A US court in the state of Delaware has now confirmed that Fairchild has infringed PI patents in the products mentioned below. In a second session which will take place on the 4th of December it will be decided whether the total of four infringed patents are valid.

The Fairchild lawyers are convinced that they can prove that the PI patents are invalid. Fairchild announces that the series of PWM products will continue to be offered. A final decision in the case is only expected in 2007.
