Development: Rechargeable zinc-air batteries 18-05-07

ReVolt Technology and the Phonak AG intend to work together to develop rechargeable zinc-air batteries for hearing aids. The prototype batteries are based on the ReVolt rechargeable zinc-air battery technology. The company will first develop a special prototype for a battery in its research centre in Stäfa. Further projects will follow this one. In addition, Phonak and ReVolt will cooperate in the area of design and development of batteries for future hearing aids. ReVolt was founded in 2004 as a spin-off from the Norwegian SINTEF research institute. Since October 2006 its headquarters and development centre have been situated in Stäfa, Switzerland. The emphasis of the development work is rechargeable zinc-air batteries. Phonak is a Zurich-domiciled registered company specializing in hearing aids and wireless communication.
