Digitally Programmable Instrumentation Amplifier 20-08-07

Designed for data acquisition systems, automatic test equipment and biomedical instruments the AD8253 digitally programmable instrumentation amplifier from Analog Devices is able to reach gains of 1,000. The AD8253 is digitally programmable with gain settings of 1, 10, 100 and 1000, letting users adjust gain even after the devices are designed into the system. Operating from ±5 V to ±15 V, it achieves 10 MHz bandwidth and 0.5-microsecond settling time to 0.01 percent. The input offset drift is 1.2 microvolt/degree C and gain drift is 10 ppm/degree C. The AD8253 draws just 4 mA of quiescent current and is available in 10-lead MSOP (mini small-outline plastic) packages.

The AD8253 is sampling now with production quantities available in October 2007. It is specified over the –40 C degree to +85 C degree temperature range, and is priced at $4.95 per unit in 1,000-unit quantities.
