On Tuesday the embedded world fair opened for the fifth time in Nuremberg and 500 companies displayed their wares. The embedded world Conference is being held in parallel. This offers 29 sessions, eight tutorials and seven workshops. The Display Conference is being held for the first time.
embedded Award 2007
The embedded award is presented annually for innovation premiers in embedded technologies. The winners this year are SSV Software Systems (category: Hardware), Telelogic (category: Software) and aquintos (category: Tools). The awards were presented during the opening ceremony on the eve of the fair.
University Award 2007
For the first time, also, a University Award was presented for student works on the subject of embedded technologies. The winners are: Dmitrij Kissler of the Erlangen-Nürnberg University. He received first prize for the Diploma Dissertation " Entwurf eines generischen schwach-programmierbaren Prozessorfeldes” [draft of a generic weakly-programmable process field]. The second prize winner is Roland Mühlenbernd of the Paderborn University with his student work “FPGA-Implementierung eines server-basierten Schedulers für periodische Hardwaretasks” [FPGA implementation of a Server-based scheduler for periodic hardware tasks] The Team, Philipp Jahn and Thomas Polzer, from the Technical University of Vienna received the third prize for their Bachelor work "Graphical Development Environment for Embedded Systems”. The prizes for the University Awards were donated by pls Programmierbare Logik & Systeme.
