Weidmüller has revisited its Klippon TB Series of enclosures making technical improvements to meet the new standards relating to hazardous area equipment (IEC / EN 60079, ATEX) and EN 62208 covering empty enclosures as well as the increased demands of a globally oriented industry. Made of electropolished stainless-steel type 1.4404/316L or painted sheet steel (RAL 7032) the Klippon TB Series is available in standard twelve sizes and three depths and is equipped to maintain an ingress protection class of IP66 and IP67.

The stainless steel versions in particular offer corrosion-resistance for outdoor application use and are thus suitable for use in conditions where they could be exposed to salt air or spray. Silicone gaskets are fitted as standard to ensure improved performance in demanding and extreme temperature conditions. To prevent the loss of the cellular structure, gasket compression control has been incorporated throughout the enclosure design. This protects against over compression of the gasket material and the potential for any loss in IP performance. Impact-resistance (10 J) is provided along with an integrated earth stud (M10), made of brass. The hinged lid can be opened up to 170°; it can also be completely removed without the need for any additional tools. A moisture/dust channel, a locking clasp/padlock facility, four slotted mounting feet and optimised mounting studs round off the newly designed enclosure.

The series is supplemented with a range of accessories including mounting plates, terminal rails, cable glands, compensating elements, a padlock for added security and other cable entry system solutions.
