Eurotech takes over Applied Data Systems 11-12-06

Eurotech is paying approximately 41.5 m US $ for Applied Data Systems (ADS) which was founded in 1995 in Maryland. The Italian Eurotech supplies embedded systems. ADS is in the same segment, providing embedded boards which run under Windows CE or Linux. In 2006 ADS has achieved a turnover of approximately 28 M US$ and an EBITDA of 4.8 M US$. ADS had shortly acquired 65% of the equity of the Chinese Chengdu Vantron Technology, which is also active in the embedded field. In the previous financial year Eurotech reported a turnover of 29.9 M Euro and an EBITDA of 3.3 m Euro. The company employs 158 people in Italy, France, Finland and the USA±. In April 2006 Eurotech bought Arcom Control Systems from Spectris. After that Eurotech employed 259 staff who achieved a turnover of 53 m Euro.
