Exports of the German Electrical industry in September 2011

With an export volume of 13.5 billion Euros, the German electrical industry in September exported 3% more than in the previous year. From January to September 2011 the electrical exports totalled 112 billion Euros. This is a growth of 8% over the previous year. In September 2011, the imports of electro-technical and electronic devices into Germany decreased by 3% compared to the previous year. They amounted to 11.7 billion Euros. In the first three quarters of 2011 the sum of the exports was 95 billion Euros – an increase of 2.5% over the previous year.
Whereas the electrical exports to Europe as a whole in September of this year rose by 1% compared to the previous year, the exports to the Euro zone decreased by 2%. According to the german ZVEI, the primary reasons for this were the decreasing exports to Italy and Spain of -19% and -5%. The electrical exports to France in September 2011 rose by 7% compared to last year.
Between January and September 2011 the exports to Europe rose by 6% and those to the Euro zone by 4% above their previous year’s level. The exports to Italy with an increase of 10% compared to the previous year rose by more than those to France with an increase of 5%. The exports to Spain decreased by 4%.
