Fairchild: 2nd business quarter 2005 18-07-05

For the second quarter 2005, Fairchild Semiconductor announced losses amounting to 205.3 million US$ (Q2 2004: +17 million US$ ). The turnover was reduced from 414.3 million US$ in Q2 2004 to 346 million US$. The main cause of the collapse of profits was provision of almost 200 million US$ for possible tax demands.
