FBDi: Distribution Association open for component manufacturers In order to expand its thematic base, the FBDi (Fachverband Bauelemente Distribution) [Association of Component Distribution], which up to now has only been open for component distributors has now opened itself to potential members from the group of component manufacturers. The first new member is the plug-connector manufacturing specialist FCI.

Georg Steinberger, Chairman of the FBDi comments: “Many subjects that have occupied us in the past years in the FBDi, such as the environment, training, liability or market trends, naturally also affect the component manufacturers with whom we have been working together for many years in the same way. And we have often found that it would be desirable to have a closer cooperation on subjects that affect us both in our business life.” The FBDi has been in existence since 2004 and comprises 24 component distributors as members. The publication of distribution market statistics is in the foreground of FBDi activities.

The Association sees among the most important subjects in the coming years the proper marketing translation of environmental guidelines of the EU. In addition, the FBDi concerns itself in working groups with further matters such as training in the electronics component field, market observation or legal matters.
