Avnet Memec is offering UPEK’s fingerprint authentication solution, consisting of the TSC4C TouchStrip fingerprint sensor and TCD50 Digital ID Hardware Engine. The complete swipe-based fingerprint solution performs all biometrics processing securely inside – template extraction, matching and storage – so design engineers can quickly and simply integrate the solution into their products. The solution is suited for embedded applications such as physical access devices, home alarm systems, garage door openers, security safes, remote controls and a wide variety of other devices.

The TCS4 TouchStrip fingerprint sensor is an extension of the TouchStrip fingerprint sensor product line, which is integrated into PC notebooks, flash drives, and hard disk drives. It leverages the HD3D sensing technology that senses the live layer of a finger, delivering high biometric performance which translates into the highest level of security and ease-of-use.

The TCD50 Digital ID Hardware Engine security processor performs all biometric processes in a secure hardware environment. The System can store up to 15 prints and respond in less than 0.75sec from finger lift-off, making it perfect for all applications requiring physical or logical identification. Furthermore it can support up to 50 fingerprints with additional fingerprint data stored on host with response time less than 2 seconds from lift-off. The Sensor supports fast swipe speed of up to 40cm/sec.
