Finisar answers the Infineon exit from the purchase agreement 13-01-05

Countermove

In a press communiqué, Finisar rejected the Infineon-announced withdrawal from the take-over contract. Finisar states that there was no infringement of the purchase contract. Much rather the board had wanted to rethink its takeover recommendations for the Finisar shareholders. Independently of this, the transaction would have been brought to the Finisar shareholders for a vote. The company intends "to vigorously defend itself against any possible legal moves initiated by Infineon and in a countermove will seek damages for any disadvantages caused by the Infineon action.”
