Finisar/Infineon: Glass fibre deal modified and completed 26-01-05

Over by-paths

Finisar and Infineon have finally reached agreement on the takeover of the glass fibre activities of Infineon. After already completing the contract, Infineon had cancelled the originally agreed purchase because of delays by Finisar. Finisar, on the other hand had denied this. Now agreement has been reached after all. The agreement, in short, is as follows: Finisair takes over the section optical Transciever from Infineon for a payment of 34 million shares valued at approximately 50 M US$. Infineon, on its side, then has a capital of approximately 13 % of Finisar and retains ownership of its remaining fibre-optic activities. Mutual demands for payments do not exist.
