| The german company Eubus developed an hardware platform for Reconfigurable Computing. These modules, called “HydraXC”, are based on the Xilinx FPGAs. All HydraXC modules come on a standard 40 pin DIL package in the size of 55mm x 24mm. Depending on the version, the HydraXC modules are delivered with a Spartan 3 or a Virtex 4 FPGA as the core component. This gives flexibility in the selection and implementation of soft processors ranging from 4 to 64Bit, like the Xilinx 32Bit MicroBlaze, the Sparc Processor, the OpenRisc 1000 or any 8Bit processor out of the 8051 family as well as any other available soft processor. In addition the modules come with a 10/100 Base-T Ethernet Interface (soon up to 1GB), a high speed USB 2.0 interface, with up to 480 Mbps as well as SDRAM and Flash memory. Also available on the HydraXC is a Real-Time Clock, an IrDA Interface, 2 status LEDs, a Touch Panel Controller as well as an extension connector for TFT-LCD with touch screen. The extension connector can also be used as a GPIO alternatively. Plus “miniSD-Cards” are supported as removable media. On all Modules you can execute Embedded or Real-Time Operating Systems, like uCLinux, Windriver VXWorks, Micrium uC/COS-II RTOS, eCOS, MontaVista LSP, AT Nucleus PLUS RTOS, QNX Neutrino RTOS, Express Logic ThreadX and others or stand alone (noO/S). The standard version of all HydraXC family members are delivered with a preconfigured uCLinux version and a precompiled 32Bit MicroBlaze Soft Processor. Other configurations are deliverable upon request. The modules are designed for all kind of applications like high speed and complex DSP designs, 10/100 Base-T Ethernet applications (soon with 1GBit Ethernet available), system management processing, high speed USB designs, very high speed Finit State Machines (FSM) and any kind of high speed designs with or without a processor.
