Freescale: Results Q3, 2005, purchase of a wireless chip manufacturer 24-10-05

In its past business quarter, Freescale made a profit of 164 M US$ (Q3 2004: 57 Mio. US$). The turnover was 1.5 B US$ (Q3 2004: 1.4 B US$). The results could have been slightly better if Delphi had not declared bankruptcy: in this connection, the company had to write off 10 m US$.

 

Further, Freescale announced that it had bought a “Factory-less” semiconductor manufacturer CommASIC. This company, specializing in wireless applications and founded in 2001 is situated in San Diego and has 30 employees, who were all taken over. The price Freescale paid was not announced.
