The turnover of the german circuit board manufacturers in January 2010 was 17.2% above that of the same month of the previous year. According to the ZVEI Association, PCB and electronic Systems in Germany, there were two reasons for the increase: one was the growing need of industry and the other was the necessity to build up stocks.
The orders received were double of those of the previous year (+106.4%) This is the fifth highest amount of orders received for a January; calculated over working days this is the third highest in the past decade. The Book-to-Bill Ratio as a trend indicator has been greater than 1 for seven months. It reached 1.28, the highest January value since the start of statistics in 1994. Compared to December 2009, the number of employees in January rose by 2%.
