According to the FBDi (component distribution trade association sales) in the German component distribution market climbed by 54% to a record level of 727 million Euros while new orders increased by 62% to 816 million Euros. The book-to-bill ratio (ratio of orders to sales) was 1.12. In terms of sales distribution semiconductors have the lion’s share with almost 73% of the market. Passive components have a 13% share of the market, electromechanics have 9% and power supplies and displays both have a 2% share.
Semiconductors recorded the strongest growth (a rise of 61%), this was then followed by the electromechanical components (35%) and the passive components (34%). Displays grew by 48% and power supplies (including batteries and accumulators) by 34%. The sales achieved in 2009 have already been exceeded after three quarters of 2010. The forecast is for growth of almost 50% compared with 2009.
