For the members of the FBDI [Association for distributors of electronic components], the first quarter of the current year 2006 brought a growth of 18% and an increase of incoming orders of 30%.. The Book-to-Bill ratio was 1.11. The overall component turnover of the reporting distributors was 604 m Euro. The semiconductor components (without CPUs and DRAMs for the PC market) played a leading role with an increase of 20.4% to 426 m Euro. From January to March they made up the largest share of the turnover with 71%. The passive components (16% of the distribution market) grew moderately by 5.8%. Electro-mechanical products, however, increased faster than the semiconductors – with a growth of 22% they increased their share of the overall market by 12%. The turnover of displays was reduced but power supplies increased substantially. However, both products contributed only little to the overall turnover.
