German components distribution market in the 1st quarter 2007 31-05-07

9.3% growth

The cumulative turnover of the 24 distributors organized in the german Fachverband der Bauelemente Distribution (FBDi) [Association of Module Distributors] grew by 9.3% compared to the same quarter of the previous year to almost 710 m Euro. The orders received were slightly down, a reduction in the first quarter of 2.5% compared to the previous year led to a slightly different Book-to-Bill rate of 0.99. In the group with the strongest turnover, the semiconductor components, the turnover grew by 9% to 505 m Euro. This corresponds to a 71% proportion of the total FBDI turnover in the first quarter. The growth of the passive modules was slightly stronger (plus 10.6%) to 107 m Euro corresponding to a proportion of 15%. A double-figure growth was also registered by the electro-mechanical components whose growth grew by 12.9% to 81 m Euro (11% of the total FBDI turnover). Further strongly in an upwards trend was power supplies which grew by 11.4%. The only negative product region in the reported statistics of the association was the displays with a reduction of 9.3%.
