The Fraunhofer Institute for Factory Operation and Automation, together with the Russian Institute for Aircraft Technology (GosNIIAS) as well as the Institute for Vehicle and Road technology (MAD) will open a joint research and development laboratory. The Joint Lab will be sponsored in the starting phase by the German Federal Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF) with 35,000 Euro. In a first phase the joint Research and Development Laboratory will cooperate in the area of identification of spare parts for the aircraft industry and the development of optical instrumentation for production and quality control.
