According to the ZVEI industry association, the orders in the German electrical industry in September 2011 exceeded the previous year's orders by 3%. Whilst the local orders decreased by almost 1%, the foreign orders increased by 6%. Compared to the same overall period of the previous year, the orders received from January to September 2011 were 12% above the previous level. In the local orders the increase was 17% and the foreign orders 7%.

The turnover of the electric industry in September 2011 rose by 3% compared to the previous year. The turnover from local customers rose by 6% and those from foreign customers by only 0.5%. Production (adjusted for price effects) increased by 15% in September. In the whole of the 9 months of 2011 the industry turnover grew by 9% compared to the same period of the previous year. Local and foreign turnover increased at the same amount of 9%.
