Harman International buys QNX 29-10-04

New conductor

The Canadian real-time operating system manufacturer QNX has been taken over by Harman International Industries Inc. The Harman group comprises mainly audio equipment manufacturers such as Harman Kardon, JBL, Becker and AKG Acoustics. QNX will be operated as a separate business unit under the direction of the present management including CEO Dan Dodge, All the QNX branches and equipment will remain and are dedicated as before to the care and development of the QNX target markets of automotive, networks, medical electronics and industrial controls – whatever that may mean, In addition everything should be better states QNX: “As … a subsidiary of the Harman International family, QNX is now in a position to realize its development up to the preferred supplier of operating systems for innovative embedded applications much faster.
