Under the name SFC A50 OUTDOOR, Udomi is offering a photovoltaic-fuel cell-hybrid power supply for network-independent applications such as measuring stations, traffic technology, video monitoring and security technology. This is a network-independent power supply based on direct methanol fuel cells with 50 W electrical capacity (SFC A50 from Smartfuelcell). The fuel cell remains in standby mode as long as the solar module provides sufficient energy. Only when the charge in the battery reaches a critical value (the value can be configured) will the fuel cell start up and reload the battery. When the battery is loaded, the fuel cell automatically switches off and is only activated again when the charge in the battery again reaches the critical value. The system can be used in the temperature range of -30 to +40°C. Equipped with a 10-litre methanol canister, the SFC A50 OUTDOOR provides up to 7.5 kWh of electrical energy. With the nominal capacity of 50W this corresponds to a running period of 150 hours without changing the canister. Optionally, the system can also be monitored and configured over a WLAN or GSM/GRPS.
