Industrial PC Board based on an Intel Atom processor With the NanoServer E3-COM, DSM Computer AG presents its first embedded system based on the Intel Atom N270 processor. The scalable industrial computer integrates a baseboard in mini ITX format developed for this purpose with a COM Express module.
Thanks to the Intel 82945GME chipset the NanoServer E3-COM offers interfaces particularly appropriate to meet the requirements of industrial applications. To Four USB 2.0 ports are provided with an additional four USB 2.0 interfaces already present on the baseboard, which, if required, can be used by external devices. Two PCI buses (3.3 V / 5 V), one MiniPCI bus and one gigabit Ethernet interface complete the product. If required, a PCI and a PCI Express x1 slot can be provided. In addition to the VGA and the DVI-D, an internal LVDS port and a backlight interface with backlight voltage control are provided as graphic interfaces. For data storage, the industrial PC housing contains a 2.5-inch hard disk with 80 GB capacity designed for operation in the temperature range -20° to +75° C. In addition, a disk-on-module or a Compact Flash can be connected.
The unique security functionality integrated on the COM Express module that meets the requirements of the Trusted Computing Group (TCG) allows the application software developed by the customer to be protected from unauthorized accesses. In addition to a Trusted Platform Module (TPM), the Phoenix Technologies' "TrustedCore" BIOS has been implemented. The NanoServer E3-COM runs under the Windows XP (embedded) operating system.
The system is installed in a housing with dimensions of only 220 x 220 x 110 mm.
