Intermediate balance in the Informatics Year in Germany 14-07-06

The events of the Informatics Year 2006 initiated by the german Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) have already been attended by more than 200 000 visitors. Included in the activities is also the just opened exhibition on “Sport and Informatics” on the ship MS Wissenschaft. The Informatics Year is supported by more than 350 partners who have so far arranged more than 500 individual events. Highlights were the scholar action day on the occasion of the Formula 1 race on the Nürburgring at the start of May with more than 10 000 participating scholars and the World Soccer Championships of the robots RoboCup 2006 with more than 15 000 visitors.
