National Instruments and the Lego group are developing the Lego Mindstorms NXT robot technology together. This is a programming environment based on the NI LabVIEW graphic development software and compatible with PC as well as Mac computers. Both companies have been working together since 1998 as with RoboLab, a programming software for Lego Mindstorms was developed for schools. The new product will be available from August 2006. This teaching robot will have available to it 32 bit processors, new motors and sensors, wireless communication via Bluetooth and improved software development tools. The software carries out searches on the Internet for robot creations, programming functions, which automatically programs the robot for earlier sequences, interactive error recognition, automatic recognition of sensors and motors, and offers a simplified graphic desktop.
