A heavy loss of 282 million US$ for a turnover of 383 Million US$ has been suffered by chip manufacturer LSI Logic in the 3rd business quarter 2004. A year ago the losses in the same period were 32 million US$ for a turnover of 450 million US$. LSI plans a reduction of 510 jobs.
