Microsemi has acquired privately-held ASIC Advantage. ASIC Advantage is a fabless semiconductor company that designs and manufactures a portfolio of high-performance, high-voltage and radiation-hardened mixed-signal integrated circuit (IC) solutions for the aerospace, automotive, communications, industrial and medical markets.

As ASIC Advantage's solutions are complementary to Microsemi's family of product offerings, the combined portfolio allows Microsemi to expand its reach into key markets and provide customers with a wider range of products from a single source.

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

In the past Microsemi acquired also AML Communications, Actel, VT Silicon, Arxan Defense, White Electronic Designs, Nexsem and Babcock.
