More than 50 experts from twelve nations will deal with the continuing trend topic micro and nanotechnology at the forum "Innovations for Industry" during Microtechnology/Hannover Messe from April 16 to 20, 2007. Presenters from science and industry will among others things introduce innovations from nano electronics, bio MEMS, micro production and laser technology. Prof. Ahmet Öztarhan from Ege University in Izmir will present applications of micro and nanotechnology in Turkey, this year's partner country of Hannover Messe. The USA will be represented with a novelty: Louis Ross from Virtus Advanced Sensors will speak about the commercialization of multi-axis inertial sensors for consumer electronic devices. Development chances for sensors will also be highlighted by Masao Kubo from the Japanese company Matsushita Electric Works.

Concerning the topic "Fine MEMS - the highly integrated MEMS", Junji Adachi from Micromachine Center in Tokyo will refer to the new national project focus upon technology development in Japan. Japan's vision about the high-tech of tomorrow will also be brought up by Prof. Masayoshi Esashi from the Japanese Tohoku University. The presentation of Mikko Saikkonen from the Finnish company Beneq Oy will deal with atomic layer deposition, an advanced thin film technology. The growing role of silicon-based MEMS will be exemplified by Markku Tilli from Okmetic Oyi, also from Finland. The event is being organized by IVAM Microtechnology Network in cooperation with Deutsche Messe AG, and with support from leading associations such as the VDI/VDE-IT, VDMA, NCG, AMA and ZVEI.
